A <br />COMMUNICATION WAS PRESENTED FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THE CHANGE. AN <br />ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED <br /> <br /> IN SECTION 4 OF ARTICLE Iil OF APPENDIX !! OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> 1965, BY THE REZONING OF A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED NORTH OF ALLIED STREET AND WEST OF <br />HILLCREST ROAD" WAS OFFERED BY MR. MOUNT~ SECONDED BY MR. MOUNT, SECONDED BY MR. RINEHART, AND CARP ED OVER TO THE NEXT MEETING <br /> <br /> FOR CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br /> REV. R. Ho HAILSTALK ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND COMPLAINED ABOUT AN ABANDONED <br /> AUTOMOBILE PARKED ON FIFTH STREET~ S. W. AND REQUESTED THAT IT BE MOVED. THE CITY <br /> ATTORNEY WAS REQUESTED TO DETERMINE IF THIS COULD BE DONE. <br /> <br /> DR. EDWARD W. RUSHTON ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND INFORMED THEM OF THE INTERNATIONAL <br /> EDUCATION PROGRAM OFFERED TO THE CHARLOTTESVILLE SCHOOL BOARD BY THE U. S. STATE DEPARTHENT <br /> ENTITLED SCHOOL TO SCHOOL PROJECT. DR. RUSHTON EXPLAINED THAT THIS PROGRAM ENHANCES ~HE <br /> POSSIBILITIES FOR PROMOTING INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE THROUGH THE <br /> MEDIA OF THE ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS. U~ STATED THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD ACCEPTED <br /> THE OFFER ON SEPTEMBER 21~ 1967, AND WOULD BE AFFILIATED WITH THE TAIPEI AMERICAN SCHOOL, <br /> <br /> DR. W. COPLEY MCLEAN ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL AND REQUESTED POSTPONEMENT OF CONSIDERATION <br /> OF AN APPROPRIATION FOR TRANSPORTING PUPILS TO MCGUFFEY AND GREENBRIER SCHOOLS. DR. MCLEAN <br /> -STATED THAT NEITHER TAXICABS NOR THE BUS THEY ARE PRESENTLY USING COMPLY WITH STATE <br /> REGULATIONS7 THEREFORE, CANNOT BE OPERATED WITH PUBLIC FUNDS. HE STATED HE HOPED TO BE <br /> ABLE TO PRESENT ~ RESOLUTION AT THE NEXT MEETING FOR COUNCIL'S CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br /> A REQUEST FOR REZONING ON ARLINGTON BOULEVARD WAS REFERRED TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> FOR RECOMMENDATION. <br /> <br /> A REQUEST FOR UTILITIES TO SERVE THE PROPOSED PANTOPS REGIONAL SHOPPING CENTER WAS <br /> REFERRED TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR RECOMMENDATION. <br /> <br /> THE FOLLOWING REPORT OF THE STREET COMMITTEE WAS PRESENTED~ AND ON NOTION BY <br /> <br /> MOUNT, SECONDED BY MR.
