Market Street, said that in the past three years he has <br />been threatened by City staff and has had his property seized by the City. He said his <br />neighbor has now been allowed to pave on his property and he was arrested when he tried <br />to stop it. He said he has received no assistance from City staff. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton removed the appropriation for Friendship Court Sponsorship <br />Donations and ordinance re: Motor Vehicle Chapter Amendments from the consent <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded the Ms. Hamilton, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote. APPROPRIATION: $2,100 - Weed & Seed Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />$2,100, received from the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, is hereby <br />appropriated to account 11-042-041163 to assist with Weed and Seed expenses and to <br />support the Weed and Seed Director's supervision of the MetroTech Marketing <br />Coordinator. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $5,000 - Commission on the Arts Challenge Grant <br /> (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Virginia Commission for the Arts has notified the City of <br />Charlottesville of its grant award in the Local Government Challenge Grant category. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that $2,500 of the amount reserved from such grant is hereby <br />appropriated to Grants Fund expenditure account 11-042-071050 for use by the Piedmont <br />Council for the Arts for its activities during the 2004-05 fiscal year, and $2,500 of the <br />amount reserved from such grant is hereby appropriated to Grants Fund expenditure <br />account 11-042-071060 for use by the Virginia Discovery Museum for its activities <br />during the 2004-05 fiscal year. <br /> <br /> <br />
