Creating Community

Charlottesville supports a shared sense of community among the ethnic, social, economic
and racial diversity of our citizens, through the support of our families and the strength of
our neighborhoods; the recording and maintenance of our cultural and physical history;
the participation and enjoyment of our citizens in our arts and cultural activities; and
through the involvement of our citizens in the public process.

Natural Environment

Our citizens enjoy an accessible natural environment with healthy, flourishing
waterways, clean breathable air and a green, visually attractive environment. As our
economy continues to grow we are minimizing the impact on the environment in order to
preserve (Tyler note: and enhance) our natural beauty for future generations.

Practice on Creating an Action Agenda and Operating Guidelines

The next activity was designed to see how the vision might be used to create an "action
agenda" and to develop some initial operating guidelines.
