Mr. Caravati said transportation is a regional need and he feels the projects should
be ranked together.

Mr. Lynch said that the idea of a transportation district should be included in the
statement. Mr. O'Connell pointed out that the CTB cannot act on that issue, but Mr.
Lynch said they can influence the decision.

Mr. Caravati said this would be an appropriate issue to include in the legislative
packet.

It was agreed that City and County projects will be ranked together, and a
paragraph added at the end of the listing to support the idea of a transportation district.

Councilors agreed on the following City and regional priority listing:

1) Belmont Bridge Rehabilitation

2) Meadowcreek Parkway and Interchange and Meadowcreek/Melbourne to Rio
(with a notation that Council only supports these projects when considered
together)

3) Hillsdale Drive

4) Eastern Connector

5) Southern Parkway

6) Intelligent Transportation System
7) Bike/Pedestrian Route from Downtown to Rivanna River

8) Fontaine Avenue Improvements (with a notation that the Council only
supports this project if it is considered in the context of the Area "B" Study
and the extension of Stadium Road by the University of Virginia)

9) Increased Allocation for Transit

10) Hydraulic/29/250 Improvements and the Western Bypass

11) Millmont Connector

12) Rio Road/Pen Park Lane Intersection.

Mr. Lynch said he would also like to see a statement added against Phase II of the
Meadowcreek Parkway added to the statement, and Councilors agreed.

The meeting was adjourned.

President Clerk
