Mr. Schilling asked how long the road will be disrupted, and Mr. Newman said he <br />cannot tell at this time. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati asked about parking, and Mr. Newman said it is planned by the new <br />building, but there will be no through traffic from neighborhood streets. <br /> <br /> Mr. Newman reviewed plans for the Arts Grounds, including a music building, <br />arts garage, studio arts, and Campbell Hall and Fayerweather renovations. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Lynch, Mr. Newman said that the <br />undergraduate student population is projected to increase 125 per year, but noted that the <br />State is asking for more of an increase. <br /> Mr. Newman said a design competition will be done for the arts center. <br /> <br /> Mr. Newman discussed the Midmont to Piedmont study area. He said older <br />dorms are planned to be replaced in seven to nine years and the plan is to add 400 to 600 <br />beds. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch asked about the sequencing of projects, and Mr. Newman said they <br />will be done in the following order: West Main Street, South Lawn, and Arts Center. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch asked if consideration has been given to charging market rates for <br />parking, and Mr. Newman said they are going to study the issue, but said they have to be <br />careful about who they impact. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati asked why they do not focus more on satellite parking and bus <br />people in, but Mr. Newman said that is unattractive to people, mostly because of the time <br />it adds. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
