He said this will show that <br />we want to do this with Albemarle County, and agreed that we cannot get too far ahead of <br />the community. He said having the committee study the issue is a good idea, and he also <br />thinks it is a good idea to take it out of the legislative package. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said that while the bill pre-filing date is in early December, the <br />General Assembly does not meet until January. He said he does not think we should <br />preclude it as an option. <br /> <br />Mr. Caravati said that if something happens, we can quickly react. <br /> <br /> The transportation district item was withdrawn from the City's legislative package <br />by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Ms. Hamilton, Mr. Schilling. <br />Noes: Mr. Lynch. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling acknowledged the death of Dr. Greer Wilson, a talented and <br />involved member of the community who worked for social justice. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Ms. Joy Johnson was <br />appointed (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. <br />Abstaining: Ms. Hamilton) to a three-year term as the 10th and Page Street Neighborhood <br />representative on the Community Development Block Grant Task Force. This term will <br />expire on May 30, 2007. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Mr. Jeffrey Aten was <br />reappointed and Mr. Kenneth W. Ballard and Ms. Kelly Crafaik were appointed to three- <br />year terms on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, <br />Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. Abstaining: Mr. Hamilton). These terms will <br />expire on December 31, 2007. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Lynch, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Mr. Doug Owens was <br />reappointed and Mr. Robert J. Clark, Jr. was appointed to three-year terms on the <br />Regional Disability Services Board (Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Mr. Lynch, Mr. <br />Schilling. Noes: None. Abstaining: Ms. Hamilton). These terms will expire on June 30, <br />2007. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton noted that she abstained because she was absent for the discussion <br />of the appointments. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
