He said John Gaines' roots are in
Charlottesville and he is the only candidate who lives on the periphery of the projects.
He said he is a credible person and would be an asset to the School Board. He said we
should let the past be behind us and come up with something new.

Mr. Karl Ackerman, 1611 E. Market St., endorsed Joseph Mooney and Lou
Bograd. He said Mr. Bograd would provide civility and has shown his commitment
by applying for the School Board a second time. He suggested that Council ask that the
School Board plan and evaluate their own performance and ask that the Board work
together and have more open meetings. He said they should also be more careful with
money and should be wary of sales pitches. He asked Council to appoint three of the best
candidates who will not repeat mistakes, will hire a Superintendent and will spend money
wisely.

Ms. Erin Garvey, 624 David Avenue, supported Peggy Van Yahres as she said
she is needed on the School Board.
