NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT SERVICES CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> July 5, 2005 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: <br />Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Absent: Ms. Hamilton. <br /> <br /> The meeting was held in the Neighborhood Development Services Conference <br />Room due to a power outage in Council Chamber. <br /> <br />AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS: PARKS AND RECREATION MONTH <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />Dr. Brown presented the proclamation proclaiming Parks and Recreation month. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. John Pfaltz, 1503 Rugby Road, asked that the contract amendment with SAP <br />be made available to the public. He also asked that any additional licensing fees be <br />disclosed. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said that the appropriation for the Drug Court is good and he feels <br />the amount given should be expanded. He said Council should also appeal to the General <br />Assembly for increased funding. <br /> <br /> Regarding the ordinance quitclaiming gas lines, Mr. Lynch asked if the gas line is <br />a main line or a feeder line, and if it is a feeder line, how could it be expanded in the <br />future. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by Mr. Lynch, the following consent <br />agenda items were approved by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Mr. Caravati, Mr. <br />Lynch, Mr. Schilling. Noes: None. Absent: Ms. Hamilton <br /> <br />a. Minutes of June 20 <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $88,522 - Donation for Enhanced Police Coverage <br />at Friendship Court (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $88,522.00, to be received as a donation from Friendship Court, is hereby <br />appropriated to 105-310-3101001000-599999 (FMS: 05-270-041023-50111) for the <br />purpose of funding enhanced police coverage for the areas defined in the Sponsorship <br />Agreement, including salary, equipment, technology and related administrative <br />expenses associated with provisions of such enhanced coverage. This appropriation <br />is conditioned upon receipt of $88,522 by Friendship Court in four (4) quarterly <br />payments to the City. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />reading) <br /> <br />$4,435 - Grant for Victim Witness Program (2nd <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the sum of $4,435.00, funds received as a grant from the Office of Victims of Crime, <br />is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-230-032042 in the Grants Fund as <br />reimbursement for expenses incurred to increase community awareness of victims' <br />rights during National Crime Victims Rights Week in April 2005. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />over) <br /> <br />$67,121.50 - School Construction Grant (carried <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />over) <br /> <br />$182,500 -Drug Treatment Court Grant (carried <br /> <br /> <br />
