27
Mr. Caravati suggested bringing Hampton Inn into the discussion because of the
prior use of their property.

It was the consensus of Council to write a letter in support of the DEQ
investigation in Fifeville.

Mr. Lynch said that two members of the Meadowcreek Parkway Interchange
Steering Committee have asked that they be allowed to designate substitute members
when they are unable to attend meetings. Mr. Lynch said he feels the request is
reasonable, but feels Council should approve the substitute list. He said Russell Perry has
asked that Maurice Cox be an alternate for him, and John Conover has asked that Jeff
Wilbur be an alternate for him. He said both of these people meet the designation
requirements of the original appointees.

Mr. Caravati said he is not prepared to take action on this tonight. He said
Council might need to readvertise for the Steering Committee.

Mr. Schilling said he understands the reasoning for the request, but is not
comfortable with allowing alternates. He said if a member is unable to attend meetings,
he would rather see them step down.

Ms. Hamilton noted that Mr. Perry changed jobs and could not meet on the days
the meetings were set.
Dr. Brown said the Parks and Recreation Committee has designated Mike
Farruggio for the Interchange Steering Committee, but he expressed concern as he
wanted someone with park experience. He suggested considering someone who had been
on the McIntire Park Design Committee. He said he will bring this up at the next
meeting.

The meeting was adjourned.

_____________________________ _____________________________
President Clerk
