100 <br /> Mr. Caravati and Ms. Hamilton said they will support funding for the Rock <br />House. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said these clientele are in need and it will also bring money back to <br />the City. <br /> <br /> Ms. Beauregard clarified that this would a one time commitment to Legal Aid for <br />the Rock House. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling asked about the current fund balance in the contingency, and Ms. <br />Beauregard said she thinks it is $700,000 but she will check. <br /> <br /> Council revisited funding for the City Market. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said he will speak in support of keeping the funding because he wants <br />to make sure we give the Market a good home. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said we do not need the funding if we sell the Water Street lot. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling agreed with Mr. Lynch. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said he will support keeping the funding and Ms. Hamilton said she <br />is on the fence, therefore funding remained for the City Market. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said the $100,000 that he proposed be taken out of new sidewalks for <br />drainage would be for a five year period. He said he would like to see a report from the <br />Planning Commission on how they plan to use the $700,000 for neighborhood CIP. <br /> <br /> Regarding West Main Street, Ms. Hamilton said this is a tremendous amount of <br />money for three blocks. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati and Dr. Brown supported maintaining the funding. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schilling proposed taking $200,000 out. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch supported cutting it by $200,000 or bringing in state funding. He said <br />he thinks it is safe to take out $200,000 <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton supported taking out $200,000. <br /> <br /> Council supported reducing the Strategic Initiatives Fund by $150,000 for five <br />years. <br /> <br /> The majority of Council supported providing one time funding for the Rock <br />House of $30,000. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said he would like to hear Council reaffirm their support for <br />Jefferson School and the majority said they supported funding. <br /> <br /> <br />Agency Funding <br /> <br /> Ms. Beauregard presented information on what Council previously decided <br />regarding agency funding. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said he would argue that the Community Design Center is a real asset. <br />He said a City commitment helps them become more stable and he hopes Council will <br />support funding. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton agreed and said they have provided leadership in the area of <br />environmental sustainability. <br /> <br /> <br />
