7 <br /> Mr. Taliaferro said he has heard complaints about natural gas bills, and he would <br />like to take a look at what we are paying and selling natural gas for. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said he will provide the report from last year, and noted that the <br />report will be updated in May. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton asked how far in advance we purchase gas, and Mr. O’Connell said <br />we buy it in the summer when the cost is the least and then go to the spot market in the <br />winter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said the price of gas goes up in the winter and we are limited by our <br />storage capacity. He said we may want to increase our storage capacity. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell presented a memorandum to Council listing big budget issues. He <br />said there is currently a gap in the request from the Schools and the policy of giving them <br />40% of new funds. He said he will provide a report back to Council on programs <br />addressing Council’s vision themes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said it is important to get all players together to address the emergency <br />medical services issues. He said he is concerned about putting together proposals in the <br />budget before this occurs. <br /> <br /> Mr. Taliaferro said he has no problem doing as Mr. Lynch suggests, but said he <br />thinks we need to move forward. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris said he would like a sense of whether the majority of Council supports <br />moving up ADA improvements in the schools. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said he has no objection to evaluating this. He said things that are <br />required are getting done, but then there are those things that are nice to have. He said he <br />would support moving up those things we are required to do. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked Mr. O’Connell to have a dialogue with the Schools and report <br />back to Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell reminded Council about work sessions on vision themes, and there <br />was a discussion about the time needed to address the issues. <br /> <br />th <br /> Mr. O’Connell said that this year is the 30 anniversary of the sister city <br />relationship with Poggio a Caiano and a committee is beginning to plan for upcoming <br />events.
