421
3. How many of the displaced businesses are relocated in the City.
4. What is the combined gross income and taxes paid to the City from
these relocated businesses.
I feel a survey of this nature can act as a guide to the City in under-
taking future urban renewal projects in business areas.
Also a report to the people on a "before and after basis" whether it be
favorable or not, would be good public relations and something which is much
needed in any undertaking where the public is directly affected. R-12, with federal
assistance pursuant to the United States Housing Act of 1949, as amended; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for such purpose that there be an agreement for
local cooperation (hereinafter called the Cooperation Agreement) between the
Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the City of Charlottesville.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville,
Virginia, that a Cooperation Agreement, as hereinafter set forth, be entered into
between the City of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and
Housing Authority and that the Mayor shall execute and the Clerk of the Council
attest such agreement on behalf of the City of Charlottesville in as many counter-
parts as may be necessary. The Cooperation Agreement, which is hereby approved as
a
to form and substance, shall be substantially as follows:
COOPERATION AGREEMENT
THIS COOPERATION AGREEMENT entered into as of the 27th day of June, 1960,
by and between the 'City of Charlottesville, hereinafter designated and referred to
as the "Local Governing Body", and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing
Authority, hereinafter designated and referred to as the "Authority".
W I T N E S SET H
WHEREAS, the Authority, with the cooperation of the Local Governing Body, will
undertake, develop and carry out an urban renewal project known as the Vinegar Hill
Project Va. R-12, the area whereof is described in Exhibit A attached hereto, and
hereinafter designated as the "Project"
WHEREAS, Federal Financial Assistance will be provided under and by virtue of
the provisions of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Local Governing Body will also provide financial aid and cooperate
with the Authority by making local grants-in-aid required under said Title I of the
Housing Act of 1949, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Authority has made application to the Housing and Home Finance
