5 <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch suggested taking a holistic look at that and said we should tweak the <br />program a little. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton said we almost need a housing fair to educate the public. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris suggested that Council move on the four action items he described <br />earlier, which leaves $1.1 million for other things, and having the Housing Task Force <br />come back with a report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said he is not opposed to the funding proposed, but does not want to <br />dedicate one cent of the tax rate. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell suggested saying allocate $500,000 rather than one cent of the tax <br />rate, etc. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked if the idea is that the $500,000 for special needs housing would <br />come back to Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris said yes, that the CDBG Task Force or Housing Task Force will solicit <br />and review proposals. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said he would like to specify this is for City residents. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said he does not think the project has to be in the City, but it should be <br />limited to current City residents. <br /> Dr. Brown suggested that the tax deferral program and density incentives for <br />developers be further discussed at an August work session. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />_____________________________ _____________________________ <br />President Clerk <br />
