He said the proposal is to put a loading zone on the <br />th <br />south side of Main Street, and to extend the curb line out at 8 Street. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris asked about the status of the Regional Housing Task Force, and noted <br />the offer by Ms. Nancy O’Brien to assist. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said that the County has agreed to participate, and he will follow up. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tom Frederick, Executive Director of the Rivanna Water and Sewer <br />Authority, gave a briefing on the status of the drought. He recommended that the current <br />drought warning stage be maintained. He said he is concerned about the lack of rain <br />forecast in the next few months. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hamilton suggested that we approach the University to gain their cooperation <br />with the mandatory water restrictions. Ms. Hamilton said that the water conservation <br />commercials are great, but while they are long on promoting general awareness, there are <br />not enough specific actions recommended. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said that the members of the public have questioned why we allow <br />development if we do not have enough water. He said it is his understanding that cannot <br />be a reason to deny development. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown said that a development cannot be denied due to water if it is a by <br />right development. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked for a status report on expanding our water capacity. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frederick said he hopes to have a final decision about the permit for the <br />Ragged Mountain dam by the end of the year, after which a engineering contract can be <br />bid for the design of the new dam. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris asked when the conversation will take place regarding mitigation due <br />to loss of park land. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frederick said the land is a wooded area and is not classified as park land. He <br />said this will be discussed in the near future. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said that cost allocation is still an issue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said that the older cost allocation agreement had the County paying <br />73.7%. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frederick said that a public meeting is proposed regarding financing of the <br />Ragged Mountain improvements. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />_____________________________ ___________________________ <br />President Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
