Noes: None.
This term will expire on December 31, 2010.

OTHER BUSINESS

Responding to a question from Ms. Hamilton, Mr. O’Connell said he will get a
th
report on the police approach in the 10 and Page area to Council.

Dr. Brown asked that staff also see if the Housing Authority has any issues where
the City could be helpful.

Mr. Lynch said the City hired nine officers to do community policing and that
number is now down to two.

Ms. Hamilton said when she suggested community participation in
contextualizing the statues, she meant token contributions would be welcome and would
be a symbolic gesture. Ms. Hamilton said there is little in the City for the Council to
respond to regarding American Indian issues. She said if Mr. Lopez or others would like
to sponsor an American Indian event, Council would support it.

Mr. Norris said that Council approved the easement for the Meadowcreek
Parkway at the last meeting which contained expectations from Albemarle County. He
said he wanted to give the Board of Supervisors credit for responding with a resolution
which addressed the expectations and “reaffirmed its commitment to further significant
investments in public transit; to making extensive pedestrian and bicycle improvements
within the urban ring; to building a transportation connector between Sunset Avenue and
Fontaine Research Park/29-250 Bypass that would divert traffic from Old Lynchburg
Road; and to continued development of alignment and funding scenarios for the Eastern
Connector.

Dr. Brown agreed this was a good faith effort by the County.

Mr. O’Connell asked for feedback from Council about the proposed citizen
survey.

The meeting was adjourned.

______________________________ ____________________________
President Clerk
