He said that the estimate to repair Smith and Crow pools is $6 million.
He said that a needs assessment was also done. He said there are extremely high utility
bills at Smith and Crow. He said the Buford School site was recommended for a new
facility because it is located on a main artery and because of the opportunity to partner
with the Boys and Girls Club. He said nothing has been decided about the future of Crow
pool, and said one idea is to turn it into a community center. He said public meetings
have been held about the pools.

Mr. Will Scribner, SMBW Architects, said a feasibility study was conducted. He
presented a model of the proposed new facility shown in conjunction with a separate
Boys and Girls Club building.

Mr. Svetz gave an operational overview and said there will be no duplication with
the Boys and Girls Club. He said he is looking for feedback and direction from Council
about whether they would like to pursue a contract.

Responding to a question from Mr. Norris, Mr. Svetz said that the usage at Smith
and Crow pools is approximately 28% City residents and 72% non-City residents.
