3 <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Virginia Department of Fire Programs has awarded a grant to <br />the Fire Department, through the City of Charlottesville, specifically for fire service <br />applications. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that a total of $105,705 is hereby appropriated in the following <br />manner: <br /> <br />Revenues - $105,705 <br /> <br />Fund: 209 I/O: 1900010 G/L Account: 430110 <br /> <br />Expenditures - $105,705 <br /> <br />Fund: 209 I/O: 1900010 G/L Account: 599999 $85,705 <br />Fund: 209 I/O: 1900010 G/L Account: 561302 $20,000 <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED <br /> that $20,000 will be transferred to the Debt <br />Service Fund as an effort by the Fire Department to repay debt service on the volunteer <br />company’s fire brush truck: <br /> <br />Revenues - $20,000 <br /> <br />Fund: 302 I/O: 2000059 G/L Account: 498010 <br /> <br />nd <br />APPROPRIATION <br />b. : $2,379.43 – Donations to Police Department (2 reading) <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br />, the City of Charlottesville, through the Police Department, has <br />received $2,000 from the Charlottesville Police Foundation as a donation for holiday <br />dinners for individual bureaus within the Police Department, as well as received $379.43 <br />in from various donations and vending machine revenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , future revenues from vending machines will be hereby considered <br />as a continuing appropriation and immediately available for the Police Department to <br />spend appropriately. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $2,379.43, received from the Charlottesville <br />Police Foundation, various donors, and from vending machine revenue is hereby <br />appropriated in the following manner: <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br />c. : “AN ORDINANCE TO QUITCLAIM NATURAL GAS <br /> LINES LOCATED ON COPPERFIELD RIDGE IN COPPERFIELD SUBDIVISION <br /> IN ALBEMARLE COUNTY TO THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />nd <br /> TRANSPORTATION” (2 reading) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE <br />d. : “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING <br /> THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 34-1 OF THE <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br /> 1990, AS AMENDED, BY THE RE-ZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br /> SUMMIT STREET AND FONTAINE AVENUE (CITY TAX MAP 17A, PARCEL <br />nd <br /> 14) FROM R-2 (RESIDENTIAL)TO B-2 (BUSINESS)” (2 reading) <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING/REPORT <br />: SMART AND EFFICIENT GOVERNMENT <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris said the purpose of the public hearing is to hear specific ideas for <br />creating a smarter and more efficient government. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell gave a powerpoint presentation providing examples of cost <br />savings and choices that are made during the budget process on service quality. Mr. <br />O’Connell said that the public can also provide input on the City’s website. <br /> <br /> <br />
