He recommended that <br />Council amend the ordinance so that the text remains as it was and give an opportunity <br />for the Planning Commission to discuss the matter in July. He said it should read 87 <br />dwelling units per acre by right and 200 with a special use permit. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Brown, seconded by Mr. Taliaferro, the ordinance was <br />amended as recommended by Mr. Tolbert by the following vote. Absent: Mr. <br />Huja. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />Referring to Mr. Nelson’s question about 24 hour permit parking on South Street, <br />Mr. Tolbert said that a former traffic engineer gave a different interpretation of the Code, <br />but the current traffic engineer says that South Street can go through the process. He said <br />that the signage is dictated by the State. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said he recently attended the ICLEI meeting. He said the organization <br />provides a lot of support for localities and has developed software tools that will help <br />focus the priorities of the Citizens Committee on Environmental Sustainability. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles Hubbard, Harris Road, expressed concern about the future of the <br />softball program with the proposed changes to McIntire Park.
