She <br />said meetings have been held with neighborhood representatives, staff, a Council <br />representative, and VDOT, and VDOT is now recommending a 67’ wide bridge, with two <br />5’ sidewalks and two bike lanes. Ms. Janiczek said Council is being asked to confirm <br />that they will accept the proposed width of the bridge. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Huja, Mr. Brent Sprinkle of VDOT said that <br />Council had requested a 60’ width, but VDOT felt that 7’ more is necessary for the <br />transition into the interchange because of conflict points between traffic and bike lanes. <br /> <br />
