He said he has been a vendor on the mall for over 20 years. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kevin Lynch, 609 Locust Avenue, said that a question came up during a <br />candidate forum about why decisions get made with inadequate information. He noted <br />the lack of public hearings on several items on the agenda, and said the background <br />information on many items is inadequate. He asked Council to either stop the Parkway or <br />do a good job on it. He said that bathometric and silting studies need to be done on the <br />reservoir. <br /> <br />COUNCIL RESPONSES TO MATTERS BY THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown, responding to comments made by Mr. Lynch, said that public <br />hearings have already been held on several items on the agenda and Council has received <br />adequate information. He said that he has known Mr. Briggs for several years and will be <br />a reference to his character. <br /> <br /> Ms. Edwards said she is glad that Ms. Carter is happy about the massive <br />resistance resolution. She said it is always good to hear from Mr. Long. She asked Mr. <br />Ferguson for a copy of his letter and said she would like to hear more about what the <br />Paramount is doing. She said she is hearing more stories about Vinegar Hill while <br />planning for Westhaven redevelopment. She said she appreciates Mr. Briggs coming <br />forward and appreciates that he is hurting, his grace and his dignity. She suggested <br />following up and said restorative justice may be needed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Taliaferro said he would like more information on the trespass notice in <br />general, the process, and how it works. <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja seconded Dr. Brown’s comments about information Council receives on <br />agenda items. He said Councilors also get their own information and do their own <br />research. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norris said he wishes we could dredge for free or make money on it. He said <br />there are parts of the reservoir that can be dredged for maintenance, but it will cost tens of <br />millions of dollars to dredge for our water supply. He said he believes we need to revisit <br />the water demand. He said Mr. Ferguson’s statement was very powerful. He agreed with <br />Mr. Salidas that we need to clarify that the City will not accept an at-grade intersection. <br />He noted that Council is not taking action on the interchange design, but is only receiving <br />a status report. He said he will bring up Mr. Risberg’s suggestion during the legislative <br />th <br />package discussion.
