165 <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter suggested that Council discuss using City buses for older high school <br />students when it meets to discuss transportation issues. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter proposed that a program be established to allow citizens to voluntarily <br />add $1 to $2 to their gas bills to be put in a fund for trees. Ms. Slaughter requested that the <br />matter be placed on a future Council agenda. <br /> <br /> It was agreed that staff would do some research on how such a program could be done <br />administratively. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, Council voted to meet in <br />executive session for the purpose of considering the acquisition or use of real property for <br />public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, more specifically described as <br />property south of Water Street and on High Street, and for the purpose of consultation with <br />legal counsel concerning matters pertaining to actual or probable litigation or other matters <br />requiring legal advice, as authorized by Section 2.1-344(a)(3) and (7). <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Ms. <br />Daugherty, certified that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public business <br />matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in <br />the executive meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and (ii) only such public <br />business matters as were identified in the motion convening the executive meeting were <br />heard, discussed or considered by the Council, with Re',,.
