176 <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Daugherty, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, the followSng consent <br />agenda items were unanimously approved, with Mr. Vandever absent for the vote. <br /> <br />a. Minutes of April 26 <br /> <br />b. APPROPRIATION: $37,807 - Victim Witness Program Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $34,027, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services, and $3,780, to be received from account code 05-030-032040 in the General Fund, <br />for a total of $37,807.00, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-230-032042 in <br />the Grants Fund for the purpose of funding the Victim-Witness Assistance Program in the <br />Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney during the fiscal year 1994-1995. This appropriation <br />is conditioned upon receipt of $34,027 in state funding. <br /> <br />c. APPROPRIATION: $187,889 - M. O. Mohr Center Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $187,889 is hereby appropriated in the Grants Fund to expenditure account <br />11-042-062025 for operation of the M. O. Mohr Center during the 1994-95 fiscal year. The <br />M. O. Mohr Center shall be operated by the Region Ten Community Services Division of <br />Alcohol and Substance Abuse under contract with the City. Such appropriation shall be <br />conditioned upon receipt of $78,530 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services Grant #95-A8590, and $109,359 shall be transferred from account 05-302-131034 <br />in the General Fund to the Grants Fund, for a total appropriation of $187,889. <br /> <br />d. APPROPRIATION: $1,500 - Vince & Larry Buckle-Up Program Grant <br /> (cmTied over) <br /> <br />e. APPROPRIATION: $1,000 - Speed Control Devise Grant <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum <br />of $1,000.00, to be received as a grant from the Department of Motor Vehicles, is hereby <br />appropriated to account number 11-270-041145, to be expended by the City Police <br />Department to purchase a speed control device. This appropriation is conditioned upon <br />receipt of $1,000.00 from the Department of Motor Vehicles. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE <br />DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 34-15 OF THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, <br />AS AMENDED, BY THE REZONYNG OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED <br />AT 1009 LINDEN AVENUE" (2nd reading) <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: SCHOOL BOARD APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano read the list of persons applying for membership on the Charlottesville <br />SchOol Board: Robert Bloodgood; Linda Bowen; Carolyn Davis; Jim Hoff; Charles Kimzey; <br />David Salzman; Michael Swift; Nancy Tatar; Jerry Womack. <br /> <br />The public hearing was opened. <br /> <br /> Ms. Nancy Tatar, an applicant for the School Board, stated that she has a history of <br />involvement in the schools and is concerned for disadvantaged children and those with special <br />interests. Ms. Tatar stated that she enjoys doing research and is a hard worker. <br /> <br /> <br />
