Edwards, Ms. <br />Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix updated Council on a variety of issues <br />including: activities of the MPO Policy and Technical <br />Committees regarding Route 29; subcommittees formed by the <br />Citizens Advisory Commission for Efficient Government; early <br />retirement program; restructuring; construction update; <br />National Optronics project on the CSX property; the railroad <br />bridge on West Main Street; and the town reversion issue. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session <br />discuss personnel matters, further deScribed as appointments <br />to boards and commissions, the acquisition, use or <br />disposition of publicly owned property, further described as <br />the High Street parking lot, and several legal matters as <br />exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1),(3), and (7) of the <br />Virginia Code. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHA/~BER - November 1, 1993 <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in regular session on this date with <br />the following members present: Ms. Daugherty, Rev. Edwards, <br />Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Daugherty, seconded by Rev. Edwards, <br />Council unanimously certified that, to the best of each <br />member's knowledge, (i) only public business matters lawfully <br />exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law were <br />discussed in the executive meeting to which this <br />certification resolution applies, and (ii) only such public <br />business matters as were identified in the motion convening <br />the executive meeting were heard, discussed or considered by <br />the Council. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. William Johnson, 217 Old Lynchburg Road, stated that <br />he does not feel the School Board has been responsive to his <br />concerns and is not being held accountable to the public. <br /> <br /> <br />
