Minutes of March 1 <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />$12,806.50 - $2 for Life Funds <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $12,806.50, <br />received in the City's General Fund as revenue from the <br />Virginia Department of Health's "$2 for Life" program, is <br />hereby appropriated to the following General Fund expenditure <br />accounts for use by the following agencies: <br /> <br />05-301'061040 <br />05-260-042016 <br /> <br />Thomas Jefferson Emergency <br />Medical Services <br />Charlottesville Fire Department <br /> <br />6,403.25 <br /> <br />6,403.25 <br /> <br />$12,806.50 <br /> <br /> Said funds shall be used for the purposes of training <br />and equipment purchases in accordance with the guidelines of <br />the $2 for Life program. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br />(carried over) <br /> <br />$3,000 - Donation for Mounted Police <br /> <br />Ce <br /> <br />do <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: Approving contract implementing <br />Comprehensive Services Act grant <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council for the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the Community Policy and <br />Management Team, jointly established by the City and <br />Albemarle County to establish innovative services for <br />troubled Children and families under the Comprehensive <br />Services Act, is hereby authorized to enter into contracts <br />with Region Ten Community Services Board and Children, Youth <br />and Family Services, Inc., in substantially the same form as <br />attached hereto, to provide the above-mentioned services. <br />This approval is conditioned upon similar approval by the <br />Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Community Policy and <br />Management Team hereinafter is authorized to enter into any <br />contract which accomplishes the purposes of the Comprehensive <br />Services~Act, provided such contract is executed by the City <br />Manager and the County Executive, or their designees, in <br />addition to the Community Policy and Management Team, and <br />funds'are available. <br /> <br />ee <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE <br />OF AN EASEMENT TO THE AIDS SUPPORT GROUP, INC. FOR <br />INSTALLATION OF A STORM WATER LINE ON PROPERTY ON <br />SHAMROCK ROAD" (carried over) <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: ANNUAL TAX RATE. <br /> <br /> The public hearing was opened but as there were no <br />speakers the public hearing was closed. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: CITY ~-CANAGER'S PROPOSED FY 93/94 BUDGET <br /> <br /> Mr. Carroll Bickers, 350 Wickover Circle, the baseball <br />coach at Charlottesville High School, requested that Council <br />approve funds for lighting of the CHS baseball field. Mr. <br />Bickers stated that the lack of lights has reduced the time <br />for warmups, has curtailed play due to darkness and has made <br />it difficult for parents to watch their children compete. <br /> <br /> Ms. Linda Bowen, 716 Palatine Avenue and a member of the <br />Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Advisory <br />Committee, supported lighting the baseball field and noted <br />that capital improvement funds had previously been diverted <br />to light tennis courts at CHS and Tonsler Park. Ms. Bowen <br />stated that the baseball field is inadequate when compared to <br />other facilities and if lighted could become a multi-use <br /> <br /> <br />
