301 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville hereby guarantees <br />that the necessary right of way for this new roadway and <br />utility relocations or adjustments, if necessary, will be <br />provided at no cost to the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville hereby guarantees <br />that the necessary right of way for this improvement, and <br />utility relocations or adjustments, if necessary, will be <br />provided at no cost to the Industrial Access Fund; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The City Council <br />of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia hereby requests that <br />the Commonwealth Transportation Board provide Industrial <br />Access Road funding to provide an adequate road to this new <br />manufacturing facility; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: The City Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia hereby agrees that the new <br />roadway so constructed will be added to and become a part of <br />the road system of the City of Charlottesville. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter noted that a public hearing on the West <br />Main Street Task Force report will be held on April 5th. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix commended and recognized the employees and <br />volunteers who had worked long shifts during the recent snow <br />storm and stated that the City has been notified that the <br />federal government will reimburse the City for some of the <br />expenses incurred as a result of the storm. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br />Pre si~en~t~--~ C l~ <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Thursday, <br />March 18, 1993 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE Lemon/Lime Room, Worrell <br />Building. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Budget work session <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY ~eanne Cox (~igne~) <br /> <br />WORRELL BUILDING - March 18, 1993 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Ms. Daugherty, Rev. Edwards, Ms. <br />Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever. <br /> <br /> Ms. Linda Peacock, Budget Administrator, reviewed the <br />proposed budget: $55,248,000 operating budget, a 2.6% <br />increase over the current year; $19.8 million for schools; <br />an average increase of 5% for agencies; a 4% performance <br />based salary increase for employees; an increase for <br />insurance; and a new pay plan. Ms. Peacock noted that the <br />amount unbudgeted has'increased from $80,000 to $177,000 due <br />to revised budget requests from agencies. The following <br />programs are not recommended for funding: Jefferson Area <br />Board for Aging Respite Care, Free Clinic, Teen Center, and <br />Northwest' Health Systems Agency. <br /> <br /> <br />
