RESOLUTION: Dogwood Festival - Use of Park and Waiving Certain Fees <br /> <br />WItEREAS, the 48th mmual Dogwood Festival will take place from April 8-20, 1997; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been requested that Council waive certain license tax and other <br />requirements applicable to the Dogwood Festival, for the duration of the Festival; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council is willing to support this request to the extent set forth <br />below; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the following fees and requirements are waived for the <br />Dogwood Festival: <br /> <br /> 1. The carnival business license tax imposed by City Code § 14-55(2) ($550/day); <br /> <br /> 2. The tent erection fee imposed by City Code § 5-57 ($10); <br /> <br /> 3. The zoning inspection. <br /> <br /> 4. Fees for inspection of amusement rides associated with festival. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the following matters, to the <br />extent applicable, are not waived: <br /> <br /> t. Peddler's license and fee imposed by City Code § 14-49(d). <br /> <br /> 2. Policing deposit for carnival imposed by CRy Code § 3-2 ($50/day). <br /> <br /> 3. Vendor regulations in accordance with City Code § 28-111, et seq., provided, <br /> however, that vendors shall be allowed to operate until t 1:00 p.m. for the <br /> duration of the festival. <br /> <br /> 4. Liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 with certificate of <br /> insurance naming City as an additional insured. <br /> <br /> 5. Permit for fireworks display approved by Fire Department. <br /> <br /> 6.
