APPROPRIATION: $32,656 - ADAPT Training Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $32,656.00, to be received from the Virginia Department of Social Services, is hereby <br />appropriated to account code 12-161-062240 for the purpose of providing training for <br />Charlottesville Social Services benefits program staff on the ADAPT system, which is the <br />state's automated benefits administration system for food stamp and T~a~F (AFDC) benefits. <br />This appropriation is conditioned upon reimbursement of $32,656.00 to the City from the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia. <br /> <br />e. APPROPRIATION: $22,170 - Respect Equals Success Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum <br />of $22,170.00, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-020-062084 for continued <br />operation of the project known as "Respect Equals Success", an intervention program for <br />middle school children with a history of assaultive behaviors. <br /> <br />f. APPROPRIATION: $67,000 - Community Assessment Center Grant <br /> (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum <br />of $67,000.00, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-270-062099 in the Grants Fund <br />for operation of a Community Assessment Center to serve as the intake mechanism for City <br />and County youth who are first time status offenders, children in need of supervision, <br />runaways, etc. This appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $67,000 from the Virginia <br />Department of Criminal Justice Services (Grant #98-A9555JJ97). <br /> <br />g. APPROPRIATION: $2,107.95 - Video Equipment for CACY Commission - <br /> Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council ofthe City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum <br />of $2,107.95, to be received as a Title V grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal <br />Justice Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-020-062098 in the Grants <br />Fund for the purchase of video equipment for use in the CACY program, "Speak Out" <br />(public television interview show produced by teenagers). The 50% local match of $1,053.98 <br />will be covered by volunteer hours (80) by the teen interviewers. This appropriation is <br />conditioned upon receipt of $2,107.95 from the Department of Criminal Justice Services <br />(Project No. 97-02TVOT). <br /> <br />h. APPROPRIATION: $13,601.35 - $2 for Life Funds Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum <br />of $13,601.35, received in the City's General Fund as revenue from the Virginia Department <br />of Health's "$2 for Life" program, is hereby appropriated to the following General Fund <br />expenditure accounts for use by the following agencies: <br />05-301-061040 Thomas Jefferson Emergency $6,800.68 <br /> Medical Services <br />05-260-042016 Charlottesville Fire Department $6,800.67 <br /> Said lands shall be used for the purposes of training and equipment purchases in <br />accordance with the guidelines of the $2 for Life program. <br /> <br />i. APPROPRIATION: $19,183 - Cleaning of Lewis & Clark Statue - Grant <br /> (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a Certified Local Government grant in the <br />amount of $9,591 for the cleaning and treatment of the Lewis and Clark statue at the <br />intersection of Ridge Street, West Main Street and Mclntire Road; <br /> <br /> <br />
