8 Code, and in the process is expected to finish "using up" current inventory of forms and letterhead stationery and other documents which contain the Department's current name; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Department of Personnel is authorized to use either the name of Department of Personnel or Department of Human Resources during the aforesaid interim period and the names are to be treated for all purposes as being synonymous - each identifying what is currently known as the Department of Personnel. RESOLUTION: AUTHORITY RECERTIFYING COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH HOUSING Mr. Hendrix explained that in order for the Housing Authority to submit an application for public housing~ HUD requires that the cooperation agreement with the City be re-endorsed as part of the process. On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, the resolution recertifying the cooperation agreement with the Housing Authority was unanimously approved by Council. WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority entered into a Cooperation Agreement date May 14, 1958; and WHEREAS, the Cooperation Agreement has been duly amended by the parties thereto by properly executed instruments dated March 2, 1959, July 13, 1965, November 17, 1969 and September 4, 1985; and WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has issued.a notice seeking applications for the development of additional public housing; and WHEREAS, any application of the Charlottsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority for such additional housing must contain a resolution from the governing body of the locality certifying the Cooperation Agreement; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the Cooperation Agreement, as amended, between the City of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority is hereby certified as being in full force and effect and that said Agreement meets the requirements for local cooperation agreements as set forth in 24 C.F.R. section 941.201(c). ORDINANCE: GRANTING DEED OF EASEMENT FOR ENCROACHMENT ON WALKER STREET (2nd reading) The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF AN EASEMENT WITHIN THE WALKER STREET RIGHT-OF- WAY," which was offered at the July 2nd meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes~ None. PUBLIC There were no matters by the public. OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Toscano announced efforts by the U. S. Conference of Mayors to assist victims of the earthquake in Iran. Rev. Edwards announced that a hazardous materials collection would be held on August 4th.
