¸91 (VDOT) is prepared to take over maintenance of the roadways known as Mill Creek Drive, Quai~ Crossing, Grist Mill Drive, Spring Mountain Road, Bryan Court, and Hunter's Way, all located within the County of Albemarle;and WHEREAS, the City owns natural gas lines located within the above-referenced roadways, and VDOT wishes to assume responsibility for the maintenance and repair of sUch natural gas lines along with its acceptance of the roadways; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a deed of quitclaim, in form approved by the City Attorney, for the transfer of certain~natural gas line facilities to the Virginia Department of Transportation. ORDINANCE: EXPANDING LOCATIONS FOR SIDEWALK CAFES (2nd reading) The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 28.1 OF CHAPTER 25 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE NUMBER OF SIDEWALK CAFES PER BLOCK," which was offered at the November 5th meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. ORDINANCE: ADOPTING 1990 CITY,CODE (2nd reading) The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND ENACTING A NEW CODE FOR THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED THEREIN; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF AMENDING SUCH CODE; AND PROVIDING WHEN SUCH CODE AND THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE," which was offered at the November 5th meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. ORDINANCE: CONVEYING PROPERTY UNDER BELMONT BRIDGE TO CHARLOTTESVILLE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY Mr. Hendrix explained that the ordinance would convey property under the Belmont Bridge to the Industrial Development Authority as.previously approved in the plan for the CSX property. Vandever, the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO QUITCLAIM CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED UNDER THE BELMONT BRIDGE TO THE CHARLOTTESVILLE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. ORDINANCE: RETURNING VOTING pLACE TO DOWNTOWN RECREATION CENTER Mr. Hendrix explained that the ordinance would return the voting place to the Downtown Recreation Center which was temporarily relocated due to the construction of the City Hall Annex. On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 9-27 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, TO RETURN THE RECREATION CENTER PRECINCT TO THE DOWNTOWN RECREATION CENTER" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.
