ORDINANCE: <br /> <br />INCORPORATING VIRGINIA CODE SECTION 46.2 INTO CiTY CODE <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that the ordinance would reflect <br />changes in the numbering in the State Code. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE,TO AMEND. AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 16-1~OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />197.6,~ AS AMENDED, INCORPORATING TITLE 46.2 OF THE VIRGINIA <br />CODE INTO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE" was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Ms. Peppy Linden of .511 North 1st Street questioned when <br />Council would consider the proposal for the CSX property and <br />Mr. O'Connell stated that a proposal is being developed and <br />the earliest Council would consider the matter would be the <br />first meeting in August. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters stated that two Council Members would-be on <br />vacation the .second meeting in August and questioned whether <br />the second meeting should be cancelled. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe requested that the decision be deferred until <br />the next meeting, <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe stated that he hoped the new Salvation Army <br />facility on Harris Street would be able 'to erect a sign for <br />the building. <br /> <br /> Mr, Huja replied that a sign has been approved for the <br />Salvation Army building. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, <br />Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss <br />personnel matters (appointments to the Regional Jail Board, <br />Highway Safety Commission, Region Ten Community Services <br />Board, CDBG Task Force and the Social Development Commission) <br />as exempted by Section 2.!-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom <br />of Information Act. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and certified (i) <br />only public business matters lawfully exempted from open <br />meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the <br />executive meeting and (ii) only such'public business matters <br />as were identified in the motion convening the executive <br />meeting were heard, discussed or considered by the Council. by <br />the following vote. Ayes: Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. <br />Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Buck. <br /> <br />Th~ meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
