112 <br /> <br />County residents of the City's Therapeutic Program, is hereby <br />appropriated to account code 05-172-072110. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $3,000 - THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that a donation had been made to the <br />Therapeutic Recreation Program which will provide additional <br />funding for evening social events for handicapped men and <br />women. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$5~670 appropriation for the Therapeutic Recreation Program <br />was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $11,602.80 - DRUG SEIZURE ASSETS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the appropriation of federal <br />drug seizure assets would be used for the Police Department's <br />drug program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />~11,60.80 appropriation of drug seizure assets was offered <br />and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING RESTRICTED PARKING ON CAMERON LANE BETWEEN <br />MINOR ROAD AND ROTHERY ROAD <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that this section of Cameron Lane is <br />within an existing permit parking zone and had met the <br />required criteria for designation as a restricted parking <br />area. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />resolution approving restricted parking on Cameron Lane <br />between Minor Road and Rothery Road was unanimously approved <br />by Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain residents of Cameron Lane have <br />requested that City Council designate Cameron Lane from Minor <br />Road to Rothery Road as a restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the permit parking <br />regulations, the City Traffic Engineer has conducted the on <br />street parking surveys and mailed notice to all residents of <br />the affected area that Council will consider designating such <br />area as a restricted parking block; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the surveys have shown that at least 75% of the <br />total number of on street parking spaces in the proposed <br />restricted parking block were occupied, and at least 50% of <br />the total number of on street parking spaces in that block <br />were occupied by commuter vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Council has considered: <br /> <br />(a) the purpose and intent of the permit parking <br /> ordinance and regulations; <br />(b) the alternate means of transportation, if any, <br /> to and from the reStricted parking block being <br /> established; <br />(c) the adverse impact that restricting parking in <br /> such block might have on nearby neighborhoods <br /> that do not have permit parking; and <br />(d) the adverse impact that such restrictions may <br /> have on the non-residentS of'the proposed <br /> restricted parking block and their ability to <br /> find available parking near their place of <br /> work; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that Cameron Lane from Minor Road to Rothery <br />Road is hereby designated a restricted parking block. <br /> <br /> <br />
