112 County residents of the City's Therapeutic Program, is hereby appropriated to account code 05-172-072110. APPROPRIATION: $3,000 - THERAPEUTIC RECREATION PROGRAM Mr. Hendrix stated that a donation had been made to the Therapeutic Recreation Program which will provide additional funding for evening social events for handicapped men and women. On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the $5~670 appropriation for the Therapeutic Recreation Program was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. APPROPRIATION: $11,602.80 - DRUG SEIZURE ASSETS Mr. Hendrix stated that the appropriation of federal drug seizure assets would be used for the Police Department's drug program. On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the ~11,60.80 appropriation of drug seizure assets was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. RESOLUTION: APPROVING RESTRICTED PARKING ON CAMERON LANE BETWEEN MINOR ROAD AND ROTHERY ROAD Mr. Hendrix stated that this section of Cameron Lane is within an existing permit parking zone and had met the required criteria for designation as a restricted parking area. On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the resolution approving restricted parking on Cameron Lane between Minor Road and Rothery Road was unanimously approved by Council. WHEREAS, certain residents of Cameron Lane have requested that City Council designate Cameron Lane from Minor Road to Rothery Road as a restricted parking block; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the permit parking regulations, the City Traffic Engineer has conducted the on street parking surveys and mailed notice to all residents of the affected area that Council will consider designating such area as a restricted parking block; and WHEREAS, the surveys have shown that at least 75% of the total number of on street parking spaces in the proposed restricted parking block were occupied, and at least 50% of the total number of on street parking spaces in that block were occupied by commuter vehicles; and WHEREAS, Council has considered: (a) the purpose and intent of the permit parking ordinance and regulations; (b) the alternate means of transportation, if any, to and from the reStricted parking block being established; (c) the adverse impact that restricting parking in such block might have on nearby neighborhoods that do not have permit parking; and (d) the adverse impact that such restrictions may have on the non-residentS of'the proposed restricted parking block and their ability to find available parking near their place of work; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that Cameron Lane from Minor Road to Rothery Road is hereby designated a restricted parking block.
