ll3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the first year of a <br />three-year housing assistance plan is required to be approved <br />by Council as part of the CDBG program. <br /> <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, <br />stated that the Plan included a HUD assisted renter unit goal <br />of 55 and an owner unit goal of 27. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />Housing Assistance Plan was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CHARGE FOR BAD CHECKS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 2-63.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, INCREASING THE FEE FOR <br />WORTHLESS CHECKS," which was offered at the September 18th <br />meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: DECAL PURCHASE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 16-29 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, TO REQUIRE THE PURCHASE OF <br />CITY LICENSE DECAL PRIOR TO PAYMENT OF FINE FOR SUCH <br />VIOLATION," which was offered at the September 18th meeting, <br />was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. <br />Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGNS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 16-43.2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, REQUIRING ABOVE-GRADE <br />SIGNS IN PARKING SPACES DESIGNATED FOR THE HANDICAPPED," <br />which was offered at the September 18th meeting was approved <br />by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. <br />Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: WEED VIOLATION NOTICE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 23-7 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO UNTRIMMED <br />WEEDS OR VEGETATION," which was offered at the September 18th <br />meeting~ was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: SNOW REMOVAL <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the ordinance will clarify the <br />language in the Code regarding the requirement that property <br />owners clean snow from adjoining sidewalks. 'Mr. Hendrix <br />stated that there have been areas where City crews have <br />removed snow from certain sidewalks, but this can no longer <br />be done for both cost and equity reasons. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Buck, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 25-20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO REMOVAL OF SNOW, SLEET AND ICE <br />FROM SIDEWALKS" was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: TAX AND RENT RELIEF FOR THE ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrix stated that two ordinances were before <br /> <br /> <br />
