Ayes: Mr. Buck, <br />Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever; Ms. Waters. Noes: <br />None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $30,861.89, <br />received from the School Board's insurance carrier as <br />reimbursement for vandalism repairs at Venable Elementary <br />School, is hereby appropriated into account 26-181-122021 <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $15,846 - UNEXPENDED JAUNT FUNDS <br /> <br /> The ~15,846 appropriation for unexpended funds from <br />Jefferson Area United Transportation (JAUNT) was moved by Mr. <br />Vandever, seconded by Mr. Towe and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $16,680 - DRUG SEIZURE ASSETS <br /> <br /> The $16,680 appropriation of drug seizure assets was <br />offered by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Rev. Edwards and carried <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING SPECIAL PERMIT FOR ST. ANNE'S SCHOOL <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the basic concerns expressed by <br />both the neighbors and school were traffic related. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters stated that she felt providing safe access to <br />the school and preserving neighborhood integrity needed to be <br />assured in order for the special permit to be granted to St. <br />Anne's. Ms. Waters stated that she had proposed requiring <br />St. Anne's to provide a police officer to direct traffic <br />during peak hours but this approach had safety problems. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the Police Department felt it <br />would be impossible and unsafe for one or two police officers <br />to control traffic, but staff had identified a possible <br />solution of interconnecting the traffic signals at Alderman <br />Road and Old Ivy Road which would provide an opportunity for <br />traffic to exit St. Anne's. Mr. Hendrix explained that this <br />issue would need to be pursued with the Department of <br /> <br /> <br />
