Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: REAL ESTATE AND RENT RELIEF FOR THE ELDERLY AND <br />HANDICAPPED <br /> <br /> Mr. Gouldman explained that the ordinance will bring the <br />City Code into conformity with the Virginia Code and. provides <br />that the income of a relative who moves in for the sole <br />purpose of taking-care of a qualified applicant is not <br />counted toward the income limit for the tax exemption or <br />deferral. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, <br />the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 30-98 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />1990, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO QUALIFICATIONS FOR EXEMPTION OR <br />DEFERRAL OF REAL ESTATE TAXES FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED <br />PERSONS" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano announced that Mr. Earl Pullen has recently <br />been elevated to the position of Executive Director of the <br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Mr. <br />Toscano acknowledged the efforts of Mr. Hendrix who had <br />formerly served in that capacity. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Ms. Waters, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in 'executive session for <br />the purpose of considering the acquisition or use of real <br />property for public purpose, or the disposition of publicly <br /> <br /> <br />
