72 <br /> <br />Attention Homes Advisory Board. Ms. Webb and Ms. <br />Reutlinger's term will expire on March 1, 1991, and Ms. <br />Hillstrom's term will expire on February 1, 1991. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, Ms. Genevieve Keller and Mr. M. <br />Jack Rinehart, Jr. were unanimously reappointed to serve <br />four-year terms on the Downtown Board of Architectural <br />Review. These terms will expire on February 28, 1992. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br />$1,725.00 - STREET LIGHTS FOR NORTH DOWNTOWN <br /> <br /> The $1,725 appropriation for street lights for North <br />Downtown which was offered at the February 16th meeting, was <br />approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, <br />Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum of $1,725.00 is <br />hereby appropriated from the unexpended balance of the <br />General Fund to expenditure account 01-24040 for the <br />installation and operating costs of 13 new street lights in <br />the North Downtown area. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS: AUTHORIZING TRANSIT GRANT APPLICATIONS (3) <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the three resolutions would <br />authorize the submission of transit grant applications for <br />Federal and State funds for administrative costs, for fuel <br />and parts, and for equipment and facilities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck questioned what the result would be if Council <br />changed the transit service level and Mr. Hendrix replied <br />that if service levels increased, additional funds would not <br />be guaranteed. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />three resolution authorizing transit grant applications were <br />unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br />I. BE I.T RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the City Manager is authorized, for and <br />on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, to execute and file <br />an application to the Virginia Department of Highways and <br />Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia, for a grant of <br />transportation fund authorized in Chapter 643, budget item <br />634 of the 1986 Acts of the General Assembly in the amount of <br />$310,141 for fiscal year commencing July 1, 1988, to defray <br />the public transportation fuels, lubricants, tires, and <br />maintenance parts and supplies expenses of the City of <br />Charlottesville and to accept from the Virginia Department of <br />Highways and Transportation grants in such amount as may be <br />awarded, and to authorize the Transit Manager to furnish to <br />the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation such <br />documents and other information as may be required for <br />processing the grant request. <br /> <br /> The City council certifies: that the funds shall be <br />used in accordance with the requirements of the <br />Appropriations Act of 1986; that the City of Charlottesville <br />will provide matching funds of five (5%) as required in such <br />Act; that the record of receipts and expenditure of funds <br />granted the City of Charlottesville as authorized in the Acts <br />of the General Assembly (Chapter 643, Appropriation Item <br />634) may be subject to audit by the Department of Highways <br />and Transportation and by the State Auditor of Public <br />Accounts; and that funds granted to the City of <br />Charlottesville for defraying the expenses of public <br />transportation fuels, lubricants, tires, and maintenance <br />parts and supplies of the City of Charlottesville shall be <br />used only for such purpose as authorized in the Acts of the <br />General Assembly. <br /> <br /> <br />
