II. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Manager <br />is authorized, for and on behalf of the City of <br />Charlottesville, to execute and file an application to the <br />Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, <br />Commonwealth of Virginia, for a grant of transportation funds <br />authorized in Chapter 643, Item 634 of the 1986 Acts of the <br />General Assembly for State Aid for Capital Costs in the <br />amount of $27,355 to defray ninety-five percent (95%) of the <br />local matching share of the City of Charlottesville for <br />equipment, facilities, and the associated costs of an <br />approved Federal Capital Grant~ to accept from the Virginia <br />Department of Highways and Transportation grants in such <br />amount as may be awarded, and to authorize the Transit <br />Manager to furnish to the Virginia Department of Highways and <br />Transportation such documents and other information as may be <br />required for processing the grant request. <br /> <br /> The City Council certifies that the funds shall be used <br />in accordance with the requirements of the Appropriation Act <br />of 1986 that the City of Charlottesville will provide <br />matching funds in the ratio as required in such Act (five <br />percent (5%) of the local matching share), that the records <br />of receipts expenditure of funds granted the City of <br />Charlottesville, as authorized by the Acts of the General <br />Assembly (Chapter 643,m Item 634 - State Aid for Capital <br />Costs) may be subject to audit by the Virginia Department of <br />Highways and Transportation, and by the State Auditor of <br />Public Accounts~ and that funds granted to the City of <br />Charlottesville for defraying the cost of public <br />transportation capital costs of the City of Charlottesville <br />shall be used only for such purposes as authorized in the <br />Acts of the General Assembly. <br /> <br />III. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that the City Manager is authorized, for and <br />on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, to execute and file <br />an application to the Virginia Department of Transportation, <br />Commonwealth of Virginia, for a grant of transportation <br />special revenues, in Chapter 643, budget item 634 of the <br />Acts of the General Assembly in the amount of $113,484.00 for <br />fiscal year commencing July 1, 1988, to defray the public <br />transportation administrative expenses of the City of <br />Charlottesville and to accept from the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation grants in such amount as may be awarded, and <br />to authorize the Transit Manager to furnish to the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation such documents and other <br />information as may be required for processing the grant <br />request. <br /> <br /> The City Council certifies: that the funds shall be used <br />in accordance with the requirements of the Appropriations Act <br />of 1986; that the City of Charlottesville will provide <br />matching funds of fifty (50%) as required in such Act; that <br />the record of receipts and expenditure of funds granted the <br />City of Charlottesville as authorized in the Acts of the <br />General Assembly (Chapter 643, Appropriation Item 634) may be <br />subject to audit by the Department of Transportation and by <br />the State Auditor of Public Accounts; and that funds granted <br />to the City of Charlottesville for defraying th'e expenses of <br />public transportation administration of the City of <br />Charlottesville shall~be used only for such purpose as <br />authorized in the Acts of the General Assembly. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING ~LAYOR TO SIGN LEASE AGREEMENT WITH <br />SENIOR CENTER <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the Senior Center continues to <br />receive credit for their rent payment due to improvements <br />the Senior Center performed on the building. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck noted concern that the lease would allow the <br />Senior Center to continue to occupy the building if they <br />moved their principal place of operation elsewhere and <br /> <br />73 <br /> <br /> <br />
