RESOLUTION <br />• WHEREAS, City Council of the City of Charlottesville in the adoption of the FY 2009 budget <br />allocated $1.4 million to assist in the provision of affordable housing units, and <br />• <br />• <br />WHEREAS, City Council in a Work Session on October 9, 2008 discussed the allocation of a <br />portion of that $1.4 million; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Charlottesville as <br />follows: <br />(1) From Account Number P -00439 (Housing Fund) the sum of $100,000 is allocated to the <br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the completion of its Master Plan for <br />Redevelopment. Of that amount $25,000 is to be set aside for PHAR for resident outreach, capacity <br />building and leadership development to ensure that CRHA residents have an active and constructive <br />role in the redevelopment process. <br />(2) From Account Number P -00439 (Housing Fund) the sum of $50,000 is allocated to the <br />hiring of a Housing Planner within the Department of Neighborhood Development Services. It is <br />further understood that this position will not be filled prior to January 1, 2009 in order to enable an <br />adequate review of budget needs. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remaining funds in Account P -00439 will be allocated <br />after consideration of a competitive Request For Proposal process. <br />Approved by Council <br />November 3, 2008 <br />C1;1 f City Council <br />
