r <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTIONS 2-57, 2-67, 3-2, 5-5, 5-13, 6-3, 6-5, AND <br />10-56 THROUGH 10-59, AS SEVERALLY AMENDED, <br />OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CODE OF 1976, <br />AND TO ADD TO SUCH CODE A SECTION 15-20.1, <br />IN ORDER TO INCREASE CITY MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSE FEES, <br />TO TRANSFER THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR COLLECTION <br />OF SUCH LICENSE FEES AND CERTAIN OTHER FEES AND CHARGES <br />FROM THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO THE CITY TREASURER, <br />AND TO REQUIRE THE PAYMENT OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES <br />BEFORE ISSUANCE OF MOTOR VEHICLE, BUSINESS <br />AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville: <br />1. That 52-57, 2-67, 3-2, 5-5, 5-13, 6-3, 6-5, and 10-56 through 10-59, <br />as severally amended, are hereby amended and reordained to read as follows: <br />SECTION 2-57. Custodian of funds. <br />•The city treasurer shall be custodian of all city funds. and He shall <br />receive all taxes and other revenues and money which it is his duty to <br />collect from persons owing the same to the city er-bak#eh-it-3s-the-dxtp-e€ <br />ether-a€€leers-e€-the-a#tp-te-ee�leet-and-pap-ez+er-to-h}m- except amounts <br />related to the provision of water, sewer or gas service. He shall also <br />receive all funds collected by other officers of the city to be paid over <br />to him including sums collected for such utility services by the director <br />of finance. <br />SECTION 2-67.
