• AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 13-26 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, TO ALLOW MINIMUM <br />HABITABLE STANDARDS TO APPLY TO CELLARS AND TO <br />REPEAL SECTION 13-25 THEREOF WHICH PROHIBITS <br />THE USE OF CELLARS FOR LIVING PURPOSES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville: <br />1. That §13-26 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, <br />1976, as amended, be amended and reordained as follows: <br />SECTION 13-26. Basements and cellars. <br />No basement or cellar shall be used for living <br />purposes unless: <br />(a) The floor and walls are substantially water- <br />tight. <br />• (b) The total window area, total openable area <br />and ceiling height are equal to those required for <br />habitable rooms. <br />2.
