a • AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN CHAPTER 12, AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, BY REPEALING SECTION 12-2 THEREOF, AMENDING SECTION 12-1 THEREOF AND RENUMBERING THE SAME AS SECTION 12-1.1, ADDING A NEW SECTION 12-1 AND NEW SECTIONS NUMBERED 12-1.2, 12-1.3, 12-2.1 AND 12-2.2, AND AMENDING SECTIONS 12-5 AND 12-17 THEREOF; AND FURTHER TO AMEND SECTIONS 26-47, 28-1 AND 28-3, AS AMENDED, OF SUCH CODE; THE AMENDED, ADDED AND REPEALED SECTIONS RELATING GENERALLY TO THE TERMS, CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF NATURAL GAS SERVICE AND TO THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF GAS MAINS AND SERVICE LINES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville: 1. That section 12-2, as amended, of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, is hereby repealed. 2. That section 12-1, as amended, of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, is renumbered as section 12-1.1 and amended and reordained as follows. Section 12-1.1. Application for service; connections outside • city; charge for turning on service. Whenever any person occupying property along the line of any existing city gas main shall desire such property to be supplied with gas, he shall make written application therefor to the director of finance on a form prescribed by him and approved by the city manager. Such application shall be accompanied by the deposit required in section 12-8 and shall set forth the name of the applicant and the location and description of the property to be served. There shall be a charge of five dollars for turning on gas service. 3. That the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, be amended, by adding new sections numbered 12-1, 12-1.2, 12-1.3, 12-2.1 and 12-2.2 and that sections 12-5, 12-17, 26-47, 28-1 and 28-3 thereof are amended and reordained, as follows: •
