AN ORDINANCE <br />TO REPEAL SECTIONS 6-5, 6-6 AND 6-7, <br />AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE AND TO AMEND CHAPTER 6 <br />OF SUCH CODE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 6-7.1, <br />THE REPEALED AND ADDED SECTIONS RELATING TO THE <br />PERPETUAL CARE FUND FOR CITY CEMETERIES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia: <br />1. That Sections 6-5, 6-6 and 6-7, as amended, of the Code of <br />the City of Charlottesville are hereby repealed. <br />2. That Chapter 6 of such Code is amended by adding section 6-7.1, <br />as follows: <br />Section 6-7.1. Perpetual care fund. <br />(a) The Perpetual Care Fund previously established fox <br />enance of city cemeteries shall be continued in effect. <br />(b) All lots in city owned cemeteries shall hereafter be <br />treated as perpetual care lots. <br />• (c) The city shall maintain all lots in city <br />tiongood condiNiin perpetuity; however, the city sha <br />liable for deterioration of gravestones or monuments <br />or weather. <br />The ci <br />f the <br />nves <br />received from the sale of city cemetery lots <br />he principal of the Perpetual Care Fund. <br />Adopted by Council <br />August 2, 1982 <br />0 <br />
