0 <br />• <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 2-56, 2-57, <br />2-59, 2-62, 2-63.1, 2-64, 2-65, 2-69 AND 2-71 <br />AND TO REPEAL SECTION 2-67 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO THE RESPECTIVE DUTIES OF <br />THE CITY TREASURER AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia: <br />1. That §2-67 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, is <br />hereby repealed. <br />2. That §§2-56, 2-57, 2-59, 2-62, 2-63.1, 2-64, 2-65, 2-69 and 2-71 of <br />the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, are amended and reordained <br />as follows: <br />Section 2-56. Office. <br />The city treasurer shall keep his or her office in such place as is <br />provided for-M:m by the city council. <br />Section 2-57. Custodian of funds. <br />The city treasurer shall be custodian of all city funds. He or she <br />shall receive all taxes and other revenues and money which it is his or <br />her duty to collect from persons owing the same to the city exeegt <br />amennts-re}steel-to-tke-prey#s}en-e€-water;-sewer-er-gas-sery#ee. He or <br />she shall also receive all funds collected by other officers of the <br />city to be paid over to him or her}ne}xd4ng-snx+s-ee}}eeteel-€er-snel� <br />tit#}}ty-serfr3ees-bp-the-el3reeter-e€-€}Hanes. <br />Section 2-59. Receipt and disbursement of school <br />funds. <br />All sums received by the treasurer for public school purposes shall <br />be credited by the treasurer to the order of the school board of the city <br />and paid out by him or her on warrants of such school board. <br />Section 2-62. Inspection of records, etc. <br />All records, funds and accounts of the city shall be subject to <br />inspection under the provisions of §58-46 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, <br />as amended. <br />Section 2-63.1. Service charge on bad checks. <br />• Any person whose check for payment of any amount due the city <br />treasurer is returned by the financial institution on which it was drawn <br />for insufficient funds shall be subject to a charge of five ten dollars, <br />which charge shall be added to and become a part of the amount owed by <br />such person. <br />
