AN ORDINANCE <br />• TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 2-1.2 AND 4-2, <br />AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED, OF THE ORDINANCE ADOPTED <br />FEBRUARY 4, 1980, THAT GRANTED A FRANCHISE TO <br />MULTI -CHANNEL TV CABLE COMPANY OF MANSFIELD, <br />THE AMENDED SECTIONS RELATING TO LEVELS OF SERVICE AND <br />SIGNAL CARRIAGE P.ND TO RATES. <br />WHEREAS, on February 4, 1980, this Council adopted an ordinance <br />granting a franchise to Multi -Channel TV Cable Company of Mansfield; <br />and later amended sections 2-1.2 and 4-2 thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, changes in federal law have greatly increased the <br />Company's cost for carrying independent satellite signal WTBS from <br />Atlanta; and <br />WHEREAS, it is desired by the Company and the City that this <br />cost increase be dealt with by adding WTBS to the basic or first <br />tier service, and increase the monthly charge for that service by <br />fifty cents; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia: <br />• 1. That sections 2-1.2 and 4-2, as previously amended, of the ordi- <br />nance adopted February 4, 1980 that granted a franchise to Multi - <br />Channel TV Cable Company of Mansfield, are amended and reordained as <br />follows: <br />Section 2-1.2. Levels of service and signal carriage. <br />The company shall provide cable television programming services <br />in three separate tiers. Separate rates shall be maintained, as <br />provided in Article IV, for each tier of service. <br />a.
