Notification of violation. <br />(a) Dischargers shall notify the Rivanna Water & Sewer <br />Authority immediately by telephone or in person upon discharging <br />wastes in violation of this article. Such notification of occur- <br />rence shall be followed within ten (10) days of the day of the <br />occurrence by a detailed written statement to the Authority <br />describing the causes of the discharge and the measures being <br />taken to prevent future occurrences. <br />(b) Dischargers shall take all reasonable counter-measures <br />to stop such discharges and, if possible, to neutralize their <br />effects. The Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority may require dis- <br />charger to provide protection in advance from discharges prohibited <br />by this article. <br />Section 24-14.3. Acceptance of off-site and septic tank wastes. <br />Wastes from sites not served by the public sewerage system <br />may be considered for disposal on a case-by-case basis. Any person <br />requesting such disposal shall first obtain a letter of acceptance <br />from the Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority by submitting the <br />information required by section 24-19 of this Code. A separate <br />request must be made for each disposal unless it can be demonstrated <br />that the wastes are routinely produced and of such quality that <br />individual consideration can be waived. The letter of acceptance <br />issued to haulers of septic tank wastes shall be in the form of <br />a permit subject to all of the provisions of section 24-19 of <br />this Code.
