13. <br />of the appeal to the court, except that the filing of such petition <br />shall not stay any decision which denies the right to demolish a <br />historic landmark, building, structure, or site. <br />Section 31-179. B -4 -Business Downtown Architectural <br />Design Control (DADC) District and R -HD <br />Residential Higher Density District. <br />The following regulations shall apply in the B-4 DADC and R -HD <br />Districts: <br />(a) Freestanding signs shall not be permitted. <br />(b) Projecting signs shall have a projection of not more than <br />thirty inches from the surface of the structure except marquees which <br />shall be subject to regulations as provided in section 31-174. <br />(c) Projecting signs shall not be allowed above the cornice line. <br />(d) Projecting signs shall not contain any information other <br />than the name, logo or the symbcl -f the establishment. <br />(e) Character of all signs shall be harmonious to the character <br />of the structure on which it is to be placed. Among other things, <br />consideration shall be given to; the location of signs on the structure <br />in relation to the surrounding buildings; the use of compatible colors; <br />• <br />the use of appropriate materials; the size and style of lettering and <br />graphics, and; the type of lighting. <br />(f) All signs in this district shall be subject to review in <br />accordance with the procedures set forth in article XIX, with appeals <br />to the downtown board of architectural review. <br />• <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL <br />February 21, 1984 <br />I.K.K.tJ <br />C K OF COUNCIL <br />83-7-22 <br />
