• AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 31-106 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, RELATING TO ZONING OF AMUSEMENT ARCADES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that Section 31-106 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, be amended and reordained as <br />follows: <br />Section 31-106. Permitted uses - By right. <br />The following uses shall be permitted by right in the M-1 <br />District: <br />(a) Any use permitted by right in the B-4 Business <br />District; however, no dwelling unit shall be erected or placed in <br />any block or tract within the M-1 Restricted Industrial district <br />unless thirty percent or more of the area in such block or tract <br />is occupied by dwellings. <br />(b) Beverage or food processing, packing and bottling <br />plants. <br />(c) Assembly plants. <br />(d) Dry cleaning establishments of moderate or high hazard <br />as defined in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. <br />(e) Research and testing laboratories. <br />(f) Nurseries. <br />(g) Manufacture of rugs, mattresses, pillows, quilts, <br />millinery, hosiery, clothing and fabrics, printing, and finishing <br />of textiles and fibers into fabric goods. <br />(g-1) Other manufacturing and processing establishments of <br />a craft nature. <br />(g-2) Warehouses, whether or not used in connection with <br />retail or wholesale businesses on the same premises. <br />(h) Compounding of cosmetics, toiletries, drugs and <br />pharmaceutical products. <br />(i) Dwellings fo resident watchmen and caretakers employed <br />on the premises. <br />(j) Any light industrial use which will have a minimal <br />adverse impact on surrounding areas on account of smoke, odor, <br />dust, noise or gas. <br />(k) Amusement arcades. <br />Approved by Council <br />October 7, 1985 <br />erc of Council <br />85-7-41 <br />
