Section 4-5. Domestic animals at large. <br />No person shall permit a horse, mule, cow, bull, sheep or hog <br />to ge run at large in the City. Any horse, mule, cow, bull, sheep <br />or hog found at large shall be impounded until redeemed by its owner. <br />If not redeemed within five days, a€ter-advert}se�eat-has-bees-made <br />x-eae-ef-Eke-E4tp-gagers during which time the police or pound <br />shall make reasonable efforts to identify and notify the owner, it <br />may be sold by the chief of police or his or her duly authorized <br />representative, and the proceeds, after deducting the amount of the <br />f}ae-axd costs e€-arrest;-#eeg#ng-aad-adverts}ng of impoundment, <br />shall be held by the City treasurer for the benefit of the owner <br />for sixty days, after which they shall revert to the general fund <br />if unclaimed;-grevi-ded;-that-ne-sneh-aslmal-shall-be-advert#sed <br />far-sale-not#1-lt-has-beer-}�gexsded-€er-fertp-a#gkt-kexrs. If sale <br />is impracticable or no purchaser is found, an animal may instead <br />be placed for adoption or humanely destroyed. Nothing in this <br />section shall be construed to prohibit the destruction of a criticall <br />injured or ill animal for humane purposes. <br />Section 4-6. Fowl at large. <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any chickens, <br />ducks, geese, pigeons or other fowl belonging to him or her to go <br />• at large in the City; except; that homing pigeons may be released <br />for return to their cote without violating this section. <br />Section 4-7.
