• Section 4-15. Keeping unlicensed dog. <br />Section 4-16. Dog license taxes. <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to own a dog six months <br />old or over in the City, except as provided in subsection {g} (c) of <br />this section, unless such dog is licensed as required by the pro- <br />visions of this chapter and state law. Dog licenses shall run from <br />January 1 to December 31, inclusive, and the license tax, payable <br />at the office of the treasurer, shall be as follows through 1985: <br />(1) For a male dog, three dollars. <br />(2) For an unsexed female dog, three dollars. <br />(3) For a female dog, five dollars. <br />(4) For a kennel of twenty dogs, twenty dollars. <br />(5) For a kennel of fifty dogs, thirty-five dollars. <br />(b) Beginning January 1, 1986, the license tax, for the <br />licenses required by subsection (a) of this section, shall be as <br />follows: <br />• (1) For an unsexed female or male dog, three dollars. <br />(2) For any dog not spayed or neutered, five dollars. <br />(3) For a kennel of twenty dogs, twenty dollars. <br />(4) For a kennel of fifty dogs, thirty-five dollars. <br />{h} (c) No license tax shall be levied on any dog that is <br />trained and serves as a guide dog for a blind person or that is <br />trained and serves as a hearing dog for a deaf or hearing impaired <br />person. As used in this section, hearing dog" means a dog trained <br />to alert its owner by touch to sounds of danger and sounds to which <br />the owner should respond. <br />Section 4-17. Dogs in public buildings, food establishments, etc. <br />It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to allow, cause <br />or permit such dog to enter any grocery or food store, restaurant, <br />ice cream parlor, soft drink parlor or retail store during the <br />time that such business establishments are open for public business. <br />The provisions of this section shall not be construed to prohibit a <br />blind, deaf or hearing impaired person accompanied by a guide or <br />hearing dog from taking such dog with -him into any g�aee-a€-geb�}e <br />• eeeemme�a€yen-as-�e€�ne�-hy-seeh4en-36-��4-e€-the-Ee�e-a€-V���}n4a; <br />as -amended such business establishment. <br />
