ARTICLE III. RABIES CONTROL. <br />• Section 4-18. Vaccination of dogs and cats - Required. <br />Section 4-19. Same - Evidence required before issuance of <br />dog license. <br />Section 4-20. Same - Tag evidencing vaccination. <br />Section 4-21. Same - Dogs and cats brought into city for <br />showing or breeding. <br />Section 4-22. Confinement or destruction of dogs and cats <br />suspected of having rabies. <br />• Section 4-23. Confinement of dog or cat that has bitten person. <br />Upon information to the animal control officer that a dog or cat <br />has bitten a person, it shall be the duty of the animal control <br />officer, upon ascertaining the identity of such dog or cat, to <br />direct that it be confined for a-19er4ed-e€ ten (10) days, such <br />confinement to be either in the City pound or with a veterinarian <br />approved by an officer of the Thomas Jefferson Health District, as <br />the person who owns or controls such dog or cat shall select; <br />provided, that the such person Wke-ewes-er-eeatre�e-ene�-deg-er-eat <br />shall bear the cost of any such confinement in the City pound or <br />with a veterinarian. It shall further be the duty of the animal <br />control officer, immediately after directing that such dog or cat <br />be confined, to notify the health district, and its designated <br />representative shall then assume the responsibility of supervising <br />such confinement and ordering the dog or cat to be released to its <br />owner, if it is safe to do so, at the end of the ten-day confinement <br />ger#ed-regn4re�-bp-ts-snbsee€}ea, or earlier, in the discretion <br />of the health district directnr_ <br />Section 4-24. Confinement or destruction of dogs or cats <br />is bitten by rabid animals. <br />
