• AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTIONS 12-1, 12-3, 12-4, <br />12-5, 12-6, 12-6.1 AND 12-7 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO GAS TRANSPORTATION SERVICE. <br />\_ J <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that: <br />1. Sections 12-1, 12-3, 12-4, 12-5, 12-6, 12-6.1 and 12-7 of <br />Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as <br />amended, is hereby amended and reordained as follows: <br />Sec. 12-1. Definitions. <br />As used in this chapter, the terms "main," "main line" or <br />"distribution line" shall mean a natural gas pipeline serving two <br />or more retail gas customers; the terms "connection," "service <br />line" or "service connection" shall mean a natural gas pipeline <br />connecting the property of a single retail gas customer to a main <br />or distribution line. <br />The term "delivery point" shall be synonymous and <br />interchangeable with "meter." The term "Firm Service" or 'IM' oas <br />customer's meter. <br />Sec. 12-3. Rates - Generally. <br />The firm service gas rates based on monthly meter readings <br />shall be as follows: <br />Basic Monthly Service Charge $7.35 <br />First 3,000 cubic feet, per 1,000 cubic feet $5-9393 5.6307 <br />Next 3,000 cubic feet, per 1,000 cubic feet $5-3865 5.2929 <br />Next 144,000 cubic feet, per 1,000 cubic feet $470i35 4.7298 <br />All over 150,000 cubic feet, per 1,000 cubic feet $4-69084 6172 <br />Sec. 12-4. Same - Summer air conditioning. <br />Gas service under the following rate shall be available to <br />customers who request such service in writing and who have <br />installed and use air conditioning equipment operated by natural <br />• gas as the principal source of energy.
